"Mixed aesthetics" considered how we perceive beauty from a scientific perspective. The project raises the question, why do negative emotions have such an important place in the perception of art? The project is based on the research 'The enjoyment model of negative emotions in art reception: distancing-embracing' Cambridge University. In essence, the main methodological hint of empirical aesthetics is to equate an aesthetic stimulus with an object that activates the distancing-hugging system.

The multiple poster project utilized a stereo-vario printing technique that blends images and information together, similar to the way our senses are blended. On one layer of which were depicted beautiful things and on the other their "ugly counterparts". People approached the beautiful image expecting to see something amazing, and then BAM! They found themselves face to face with something disgusting! The complex aesthetics of mixed impressions evoke far more vivid feelings in viewers and imprints itself on the memory, and reminds us that science should not be satisfied with simple answers.

Проект "Смешанная эстетика" рассматривал, как мы воспринимаем красоту с точки зрения науки. Проект поднимает вопрос, почему негативные эмоции занимают столь важное место в восприятии искусства? Проект основан на исследовании "Модель наслаждения негативными эмоциями в рецепции искусства: дистанцирующаяся-обнимающая" Cambridge University. По сути, главный методологический лайфхак эмпирической эстетики — приравнять эстетический стимул к объекту, который активирует систему "дистанционирования-обнимания".

В проекте из нескольких плакатов использована техника стерео-варио печати, которая позволяет смешать воедино изображения и информацию, подобно тому, как смешиваются наши чувства. На одном слое которых были изображены красивые вещи, а на другом — их "уродливые двойники". Люди подходили

к красивому изображению, ожидая увидеть нечто удивительное, и тут БАМ! Они оказывались лицом

к лицу с чем-то отвратительным! Сложная эстетика смешанных впечатлений вызывает куда более яркие чувства у зрителей и впечатывается в памяти, а также напоминает о том, что наука не должна довольствоваться простыми ответами.
